People today are very privacy orientated and so with every SMS campaign it's good practice to give an option to opt-out from future messages. We’ve built a feature into our dashboard that will help you easily add this option to your messages or your website.
How does it work?
- Create a new campaign unsubscribe link on our dashboard. Add it a relevant name, description and optionally a callback URL.
- Include the unsubscribe link you got from the dashboard into your SMS message or to your website.
- If one of the recipients wants to opt-out of your campaign then they can visit the link and add their phone number to the unsubscribed list.
- You can then download the list of the unsubscribed users from our dashboard. As an alternative if you have implemented callback URL then you can automatically get the responses to your CRM. Be aware that this requires some development in your system.
Callback URLs are useful when you want to automatically transfer the list of unsubscribed phone numbers into your company’s internal CMS or CRM systems.
Although this requires some development on your part, it’s well worth the effort.
How does it work?
When you add a callback URL to your campaign unsubscribe link then whenever someone uses the link to opt-out then Messente will make an HTTP request to the URL you provided. You can use that request to automatically save the unsubscribed information into your internal tools.
